Degradation UConn Public Wireless Connectivity Issues
January 24, 2012
There are connectivity and response time issues with UConn Public wireless. Technicians are working on the problem, however, we do not have an estimated time of resolution. It is being suggested that all users with a NetID and password use UConn Secure wireless. Degradation Trouble with SafeConnect on UCONN-SECURE Wireless Network

(2:30pm) End users of UCONN-SECURE wireless may need to re-authenticate to SafeConnect unexpectedly. Indications are that your mobile device or laptop does not appear to have network access even though the wireless connection is established. If this occurs, open a web browser on your device and follow the SafeConnect instructions. There is a known problem that technicians are working to resolve.

UPDATE (12/27/2011 - 12:34pm): Technicians continue to work on the issue.

UPDATE (1/23/2012 - 4:07pm): Technicians continue to work on this issue and will provide a go-live date for the resolution as soon as possible.

Student Administration Will Be Unavailable

Notice Phish / SPAM Attempts

They will keep trying to get you to respond to fraudulent email. Recently UConn faculty and staff were sent email that referenced 'your mailbox is almost full'. These are unquestionably phishing attempts. DO NOT REPLY. Delete these messages immediately. If you are concerned about an email, please check with your local IT support and/or call the UITS Help Center 860.486.4357 prior to responding.

Notice MSoft Internet Explorer (IE 9) Compatibility
January 2, 2012
Microsoft released Internet Explorer 9 on March 14, 2011 and set it for Automatic Updates Installation. It is recommended that you NOT install IE9 before checking
IE9 Recommendations for UConn Applications compatibility.
